Our Mission

Bukas Loob sa Diyos (Open in Spirit to God )

The Bukas Loob sa Diyos (BLD) Covenant Community is a private association of the lay faithful within the Roman Catholic Church. It remains in full communion with the Church and faithfully submits to the authority of the Roman Pontiff (the Pope) and the Diocesan Bishop of the local Church.

Founded in June 1985 in Manila, Philippines, BLD has grown into an international covenant community with its global center still based in Manila. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, BLD continues to proclaim the Gospel and nurture committed disciples of Jesus Christ across the world.

We are a global community of missionary disciples, inspired and empowered by the Holy Spirit, called to be living witnesses of Christ’s transforming love. As a communion of encountered families, we build communities of disciples of Jesus Christ who renew and strengthen the Christian faithful through faith formation, spiritual growth, pastoral care, and service.

Through our Christian Encounter programs, Spiritual Growth and Formation, Pastoral Care, and Poverty Alleviation initiatives, we nurture faith, strengthen families, and inspire active service to the Church and society.

Guided by the Holy Spirit, we strive to bring about a world founded on justice, authentic human development, and lasting peace, becoming instruments of God’s love, mercy, and hope to all.
